I just received a Bill/Renewal or Cancellation. How do I pay?
If you already mailed your auto insurance payment and you have received a cancellation notice. Please
call or email our staff and we can check the system and see if your still within a grace period. You can
also call 888-637-2176 or visit
Mercury's website for info or to make payments. (There is no grace period
on renewals)
I've just been in an accident. Who do I call?
If you are a Mercury policy holder you need to call the Mercury's 24 hour Claims Hot line at (888)
313-6372 or visit the
claim section of Mercury's website.
Automatic Coverage
When purchasing a new or used car ,Not all situations qualify for Automatic Coverage. Please contact
the office immediately so we can review your policy.
Rental Car Insurance Coverage
Coverage is provided only in the United States for policies that include comprehensive and Collision.
Coverage is not provided for U-haul vehicles, Vans, Pickups or RV's.  Only listed relative drivers on
both your policy and rental agreement may be protected. .
Not all losses are covered.  You are responsible
for down time and loss of rental income.  Many rental contracts hold you responsible for replacement
value and insurance usually only provides protection for actual cash value. Be sure to read your rental
contract thoroughly it is usually a good idea to purchase the optional coverage offered through the
rental car agency.
Temporary RV Coverage
Temporary RV/Trailer coverage must be purchased through renting agency and can not be added to your
existing policy.
Tickets / Accidents
Standard tickets and Accident's effect your insurance rate for a 3 year period. Accidents with Injuries ,
Multiple Tickets/Accidents , Major Violations and Suspension's will cause you to loose your California
Good driver discount for 3-10 years and effect your rate significantly.(Calstate recommends traffic
school whenever applicable)
What happens when my child gets his/her permit?
Please call and talk to your agent when your teen gets his/her permit. There is no automatic coverage
provided ...... Please contact our office so we can add the driver to the account. (There may be no charge
if the driver qualifies for Mercury's U-234 Permit Endorsement)
Does my child qualify for the good student discount?
Your child may qualify for the Good Student Discount if he/she has a 3.0 or better grade point average
and is a full time student in High School or College (College student's must be enrolled in 12+Units).
What is Liability Coverage?
Liability coverage is represented as a series of numbers, such as 25/50/25. These are limits, in thousands of
dollars, that the company will pay out: $25,000 per person, $50,000 per accident for bodily injury (BI)
sustained by the other party, plus up to $25,000 for property damage (PD). Payment is made when you
are determined legally responsible. This coverage also pays for your legal costs if you are sued.
Generally, you should carry limits equal to your net worth. If your net worth exceeds the highest auto
liability limits of $250,000/$500,000, please call us about an umbrella policy.
What is Uninsured Motorist Coverage?
Uninsured Motorist (UM)/Underinsured Motorist coverage pays when you are hit by an uninsured
driver or a driver with inadequate liability insurance coverage. Payments include BI, PD, or your
deductible.
What Is Comprehensive & Collision Coverage?
Comprehensive & Collision provide coverage for the repair of your car. Collision coverage pays for
damage to your car when your car is in an accident. Comprehensive coverage covers everything that is
not covered under collision, such as fire, theft, falling objects, vandalism, etc. Comprehensive and
Collision each carry their own deductibles.
How does my Deductible work?
The Deductible is the amount you pay to have your vehicle repaired in a covered loss. The insurance
company covers the actual cash value amount over your deductible.
What is the Collision Deductible Waiver?
The Collision Deductible Waiver waives your collision deductible if you are hit by an uninsured
motorist. (Does not apply to Hit and Runs)
What is Medical Payments Coverage?
Medical Payments coverage reimburses you and your passengers for medical or funeral expenses arising
from an accident, regardless of who was responsible for the accident. It is generally written in small
amounts, since it is merely intended to pay the bills not covered by other insurance.
What are Rental and Towing Coverages?
Rental Car coverage reimburses you for your use of a rental car while your car is being repaired under a
covered loss. Towing & Labor reimburses you for expenses to transport your car to a repair facility
under a covered loss. (Must be purchased separately , Please call for Quote)
What is an Umbrella Policy?
An Umbrella Policy protects your financial assets and extends your liability coverage for your
homeowner and auto policies to one million and higher. For more information, give us a call, and we'll
be happy to assist you in determining if an umbrella policy is right for you.
What is a Mechanical Breakdown Policy?
A Mechanical Breakdown Policy is an extended warranty coverage for qualifying new and used vehicles.
There is no limit to the number of claims that can be filed, and repairs can be done at any licensed repair
shop within the United States. (Factory Warranty must still be in effect to qualify) Please call or
